WHAT IS THE FCC HEALTH MINISTRY?

The FCC Health Ministry is a totally voluntary program and is all about sharing and caring for one another.  It is intended to care for the body, mind and spirit of our community through Christ-centered health, fitness & wellness programs and services.

Caring for all the people of God is a part of our mission here on this earth.  The Bible has much to say about the importance of the inter-relationship of the body & soul.  The New Testament tells us that Jesus, when he sent out his disciples, told them not only to preach the kingdom of God, but also to heal the sick. “…and He sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” (Luke 9:2).  From a biblical perspective, healing is a part of the process of living.

The FCC Health Ministry is meant to promote lifestyle changes, health counseling & support while utilizing therapeutic use of prayer & scripture, and empowering the Church to make good health care decisions that will prosper their physical AND spiritual life.  It also reflects FCC’s vision of seeing lost people saved, by offering programs to the public, thus introducing the un-churched community to FCC in a non-threatening manner.

The Health Ministry has its first goal as health education & health care advocate.  A wide range of health & wellness topics have already been in progress since February 2006 under the title of the Living Well Program.  Wellness education will continue to be presented through lecture series, seminars, newsletter articles, health screenings, posters, and support groups.
